Steps to help Parents Organize Baby Clothing

• If at all possible, try to wash all baby clothing as well as other fabrics that are due to come into contact with baby’s sensitive skin before bringing him/her home from hospital. Ensure you include sheets, bibs, wash cloths, changing table pads, burp clothes, and bath towels.
• Place the baby clothing (including socks) currently worn by your baby in the top drawer of the dresser. Store all baby clothing that baby will wear next in the drawers that follow. As an example, store the 0 to 3 months baby clothing in the first drawer, the 3 to 6 month baby clothing in the second drawer, and the 6 to 9 month baby clothing in the third drawer.
• Large sizes baby clothing that will not be worn for an extended time (9 months to a year) should be stored in baby’s closet.
• It is not a bad idea to buy closet dividers, as it allows you to organize baby clothing accordingto age. Closet dividers are great as it allows parents to quickly view the number of baby outfits baby has in each clothing size and act accordingly.
• Baby shoes are also important baby clothing. Baby shoes should be kept accessible, but off the closet’s floor. Some kind of fabric holder should work nicely here.
• Baby clothing which your little one has outgrown should not be thrown away, but rather stored in boxes or containers according to gender and size. You will appreciate them a lot more as your baby gets older over time.
• Newly-washed baby clothing should be put at the bottom of the piles in the drawers to prevent baby from wearing the same outfits day after day.
